Christmas on the Rocks in Hartford

{ Through Saturday, December 23rd } Christmas on the Rocks mixes the best Yuletide specials with a dash of booze in Hartford.

What if all the characters from your favorite Christmas specials aged out of their childhood joys into the bitter ennui of adulthood, drink in hand? That’s the premise for Christmas on the Rocks, a popular Yuletide parody back onstage at TheaterWorks in Hartford, Connecticut. Set on Christmas Eve in a rundown watering hole, this silent night becomes anything but when a local bartender finds himself mixing drinks for the likes of grown up Charlie Brown, Hermey the Elf, and more. Life hasn’t been all candy canes and sugar plums for this cast of characters, and director Rob Ruggiero encourages you to join them as they pour out their seasonal woes.

Christmas on the Rocks runs through December 23 at TheaterWorks. Tickets range from $30 to $45 and can be purchased online. The performance runs 90 minutes with no intermission. Doors open 45 minutes before showtime. Due to strong language and some sexual content, this show is recommended for ages 16 and up.
