Next Stage Speaks Presents: Major Jackson

{ Sunday, May 28th } Poet, educator, and author Major Jackson joins the literary series Next Stage Speaks.

Poet, author and educator Major Jackson is the next literary heavy hitter in Next Stage Arts Project‘s literary series, Next Stage Speaks. In addition to being a faculty member at Bennington Writing Seminars, Jackson is author of four collections of poetry: Roll Deep, Holding Company, Hoops, and Leaving Saturn. (Holding Company and Hoops were both selected as finalists for an NAACP Image Award in the category of Outstanding Literary Work in Poetry).

Joining Major Jackson are poets Didi Jackson and the host of the evening, Chard DeNiord. Didi Jackson teaches poetry, and visual arts and creative writing at the University of Vermont. DeNiord, Vermont Poet Laureate, is also a professor of English at Providence College and author of four books of poems.

As part of the evening, DeNiord will conduct an interview with Major and Didi about their career and recent works, followed by a reading and Q&A.
