New Urban Arts Turns 20!

{ Friday, April 21st } New Urban Arts celebrates 20 years of providing arts education to the youth of Providence.

This April marks twenty years of service by the Rhode Island organization, New Urban Arts. Founded in 1997, NUA is a nationally recognized, interdisciplinary arts studio for high school students and emerging artists in Providence. The organization’s mission is to empower young people as artists and leaders toward a lifelong creative practice. Since its inception, New Urban Arts has served as a safe haven for the youth of Providence, inspiring over 2,000 students to see themselves as creators and community leaders.

To commemorate 20 years of art and public service, NUA is throwing its biggest bash of the year and the public is invited! Come celebrate and raise your glass in toast to 20 more. The celebration includes music, local food, and fun festivities, as well as a silent auction with art work by NUA’s talented community of artists. All proceeds benefit NUA’s free after-school and summer arts programs for Providence public high school students.
