Yoko Miwa and her Trio at Scullers Jazz Club

{ Thursday, October 26th } Acclaimed pianist Yoko Miwa and her trio celebrate their album at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston.

Looking for the path to smooth sounds? Yoko Miwa and her trio have you covered. The acclaimed Kobe, Japan pianist and her trio will celebrate the recent release of their well-received new disc, Pathways, with a show at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston. Make sure you jump at the chance, though. Miwa, Will Slater (bass), and Scott Goulding (drums, Miwa’s spouse) will play for one night only on Thursday, October 26th at 8 p.m. Jeremy Goodwin in The Boston Globe praises Pathways (Miwa’s seventh record as a trio leader): “Bright and accessible… Miwa’s technical chops are evident, yet she’s anything but showy; she prizes space in her sound, and leaves room for the deep interplay her group has honed over the years.”

“When we play together, it comes out as one sound,” Miwa says. “That’s the best part of working together all the time. I’m very comfortable with these guys because they know my playing and I know them very well.” Tickets are available online and are $25 for general admission, $40 for front row reserved/mezzanine, and $75 for a show and dinner package through the Boathouse 400 Restaurant on the hotel’s second floor.
