What happens when a group of people get together to drink coffee, start talking about cool shit and plan a magazine.
“Hey, let’s start a magazine. Take Magazine‘s initial staff get-together at Sip Café and Coffee Bar in Northampton, Massachusetts. From left, operations director Tim Fisk, publisher Michael Kusek, editor-in-chief Lauren Clark and senior multimedia editor Kyle Wayne Brown.
If someone had said, at Take’s very first staff meeting two weeks ago, “And let’s publish the first post on our website during a historic blizzard,” the rest of us would have nodded at the greatness of such a plan. New England’s first magazine to focus on contemporary arts and culture, coming at you with bluster while you’re holed up at home in front of your computer!
So… welcome! We’ll put some words and pictures up here regularly until we launch our first print issue a bit later on this year. Follow us on social media, and you’ll be privy to all our latest posts. There’ll be some behind-the-scenes, “making of ” content, teasers for articles in our first issue, some arts and culture info and tips, and whatever else we think is cool around New England.
If you haven’t already, join us so that you can be notified when subscriptions are available and tell us whether you’re a potential contributor, supporter, or whether you just have a good idea for coverage.
We’re excited for this venture and hope you are, too!
