Like the small wineries and breweries that have proliferated in New England over the past few decades, more than 60 liquor distilleries are now operating in the region, most of them opening within the last decade. The majority are microdistilleries making hooch in small batches for largely local consumption. Some producers who have barely begun selling product, or don’t distill locally, or don’t have bottling facilities, or are largely known for wine didn’t make it onto our map.
